Beavers in Nature

The Amazing Beavers

Beavers are more than intriguing animals with flat tails and lustrous fur.

American Indians called the beaver the 'Sacred Center' of the land because this species creates rich habitats for other mammals, fish, turtles, frogs, birds and ducks.

Since beavers prefer to dam streams in shallow valleys, much of the flooded area becomes wetlands.

Beaver Dams

Beavers change the landscape with the dams they build.

A dam is a barrier that stops the flow of water and forms a pond or lake.

These new ponds make it easier for beavers to access trees found along the shoreline.

What's it all about?

Fun, Friendship and Adventure

Our Beaver Scouts participate in a programme of activities, games, arts & crafts and many others.

These Activities helps our Beaver Scouts to learn through sharing, co-operation, teamwork and effort.

The activities are designed to stimulate the imagination - and encourage the Beaver Scouts to have lots of fun, all whilst making lots of new friends.

The Beaver Scout Prayer

A Beaver Should Care, A Beaver Should Share...

Faith is very important within The Parish of Ballinascreen, as evident within the Unit as each section has its very own prayer, which is said at both the start and end of every Group Section evening meeting.
