The Catholic Boy Scouts of Ireland was started in 1927 by a Dublin curate, Fr. Tom Farrell, and his brother, Fr. Ernest Farrell.

The experience of Scouting took a little bit longer to reach Draperstown...
...but the inevitable happened in 1994, when the 33rd Derry Ballinascreen Scouts was formed by Martin Brunton, Chris Magee, Betty Donnelly, Roisin Murray and Nancy Hegarty ...
...An inspirational group of people who would shape the future of the Unit, along with many others who would also soon join them as leaders.
